Murat Yapıcı is a former senior bureaucrat with over 35 years of experience at the Turkish Ministry of Trade and is one of Turkey’s leading figures in the field of international trade policy and trade defense instruments.
During his career, he served as Director General for the European Union, Deputy Director General for Imports, and Director of the Anti-Dumping & Subsidy Investigations Department. During these positions, he was directly responsible for drafting legislation on the Prevention of Unfair Competition in Imports, establishing the investigation system (dumping margin calculations, damage analyses, on-site verification mechanisms), and conducting hundreds of investigations.
He represented Turkey in the World Trade Organization Anti-Dumping Committee and Rules Negotiating Group, and also served as a WTO Dispute Settlement Panelist. He served as Trade Counselor in Tokyo and London.
